I Spent 30 Days With Trippie Redd’s New Album, “MANSION MUSIK”

Popular rapper Trippie Redd released a new album, “MANSION MUSIK” somewhat out of nowhere back on January 20. The 25 track long project shows off the latest the iconic artist can do on the rap game’s newest sounds. Trippie has had a cult-like fan base for years now, soaking in this new project from one of their favorite artists.

I wanted to try to write about an album differently than just saying it released and where to listen. The project in total has over 19 features, some are rap’s biggest stars like Future, Chief Keef, Travis Scott and Lil Durk. However, Trippie teamed up with some of the game’s best up and coming such as Nardo Wick, BIG30, Rylo Rodriguez and Summrs. Even though most times when artists stack up so many features, I would call it lazy. With this just being a ‘placeholder’ project before the eventual release of the album, “A Love Letter To You 5,” I thought the excessive features was actually quite fun. More features include Fijimacintosh, LUCKI, Rich The Kid, G Herbo and Ski Mask The Slump God.

Not much went into promo or any real heads up that Trippie had this much music ready to come out. Not that extra promotion is needed for an artist this big because casual fans will He kept teasing Instagram stories with the text, “MM” on each post. Roughly a week before the album dropped, Trippie had a snippet of a song with Chief Reef off the album, “ATLANTIS” circulate online that rap fans devoured. This snippet is what got myself invested into that particular song, the music video and evantually the full album.

The “ATLANTIS” music video has not been the lone visual to this point. With over 20 songs on the project, Trippie has been able to drop a surplus of music videos for this album. Notably, he teamed up again with Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett to release a visual for the song “SWAG LIKE OHIO, PT. 2” Featuring Lil B. He has also dropped music videos for the songs, “MUSCLES,” “BIGGEST BIRD” and “PSYCHO.” It’s unclear if he’s got more videos in store off this project.

This project is drill-themed that make listeners get excited or could have crowds at shows or festivals going wild. Trippie actually had this project executively produced by Chief Keef. The two artists have been fans of each others music for quite some time now, it was a blessing that fans will always have two legends like them tied together on a project. Their song “ATLANTIS” has been one of the most popular songs off the entire album. They also released a second song together titled, “ROCK OUT.”

If you are a fan of Trippie Redd, this album is 100% something you should dive head first into. There’s so many songs with varying artists it would be really challenging to miss out on every song.
