Giveon got busy on March 12th! Not only did he combine his two original EPs (Take Time for the first part and When It’s All Said and Done for the conclusion) into one project, but he added on a new single as the conclusion of the project titled “All to Me”. Giveon, reaching fame after his feature on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle”, has been a new voice in R&B that is quite unique.
While his instrumentals are very purifying, I think the most important part of his music is the voice. It’s deep, it’s vulnerable, and it’s raw. This specific single is fitting to be last, as the saying goes to save the best for last. I say the song is the best song for last for one good reason. This being that the ordering of songs, starting from the top like “World We Created” and “Favorite Mistake” give fans a feeling of new relationship nostalgia, where the last tracks of the album like “Still Your Best” and “Last Time” give you quite the opposite–an exposed heartbreak.
With “All To Me”, it does not give either: it gives fans a more explicit lust of a person you just can’t let go. The instrumentals, furthermore, are phenomenal. The last word “wait” leaves fans on a cliffhanger that could be interpreted in your own imagination. This track was produced by 5 people, few of them producing big tracks like lllangelo (produced on “I Fall Apart by Post Malone) and Peter Lee Johnson (produced 34+35 by Ariana Grande). Overall, I really enjoyed the track and honestly can’t wait for what Giveon has in store for us!
