Glvsshouse’s song, “Games” was featured as a part of Pharrell Williams’ COVID-19 artist relief project “iamOTHER Vol. 1.” In light of the song’s success, reaching over 250,000 plays on SoundCloud, Olympus Projects’ co-founder, Peter Robinson took notice of Glvsshouse, which led to him signing a management deal with the company.
The song has since landed on playlists such as Fresh Pop Picks and New Emo Rap. “Games” was originally released as a single on April 3rd, 2020. It later released as a part of the project “Thank you, Have a Terrible life” on November 27th, 2020. Glvsshouse’s newest music video features animation from Logan Gardener, a 3D visual artist from Pennsylvania. The video displays metaphors of a girl playing “games” with Glvsshouse.
Taking place within an arcade, Gardener showcases Glvsshouse playing various games, one of which was a nod to the classic Donkey Kong. Animated music videos are becoming more and more popular, especially with the pandemic, artists are finding new formats to express their music visually. 3D animation will only lead to more creative ideas within the medium. It’s fair to say Glvsshouse has had some success. Well with a co-sign from Pharell Williams and thousands of plays, it’s no doubt that this song and artist are on the rise.
Now Glvsshouse has gained even more confidence according to his statement, “Games was a record I made hungover in my LA apartment in about 30 minutes,” Glvsshouse said. “I had no idea it would grab Pharrell’s attention and be one of my biggest songs to date. Having the Pharrell cosign really gave me full confidence in my music, it’s kind of like I was sure all along but having that man tell me my song is good just made it a fact.” It will be exciting to see what we get next from Glvsshouse, and where his career will go.
