Chicago artist Polo G dropped his second studio album, ‘THE GOAT’ on Friday. This album has been teased for months by the artist and fans were heavily anticipating its release for months.
The project has zero bad songs. Quite simply this is one of the best albums that we’ll see in the year 2020. Polo G’s storytelling on every track, blended with his different melodic flows makes every song on the project a great listen. The album is currently holding the No. 2 spot on Apple Music’s Top Charts and has five songs inside the Top 25 spots on the platform.
It’s not even that I’m some die-hard Polo G fan, it’s that this tape was some very high-quality music. The hype surrounding it on social media is well deserved for the 21-year-old artist.
‘THE GOAT’ holds 16 songs with a total runtime of 47 minutes. The project features three songs Polo has dropped since his first studio album, ‘Die A Legend’ dropped. Hos collab with Mustard, ‘Heartless’ is one of the three tracks. The recently released, ‘DND’ is on there, as is ‘Go Stupid,’ which features Stunna 4 Vegas and NLE Choppa, and is produced by studs Tay Keith and Mike Will Made-It. Not to mention how popular ‘Go Stupid’ has been on Tik Tok for the last 6 months.
Polo only had three new features for the album. The late Juice Wrld is one of them as he’s on the song titled, ‘Flex,’ which is charting at the No. 8 spot on Apple Music. He also has a feature from Lil Baby on his track, ‘Be something’ which is positioned at the 24th spot on Apple Music. The final track on the album features another Chicago Artist, BJ the Chicago Kid.
I feel it’s safe for me to say that many rap fans are going to be bumping Polo’s new tape all the way through the summer. His loyal fans are thrilled with how fire the project is and the hype about it in Chicago is there. It’s safe the say Polo G has solidified himself as one of the best rappers to come out of Chicago.
